Kitchen remodeling project 2013

Our old kitchen.

 This year we decided to create space in our kitchen and dining room area.  We moved our Living room downstairs, and in the remaining space we made our kitchen somewhat larger. We also made our dining room considerably larger.

Our old living room.  We had already taken up the floor and taken all the furniture out.

This was the night before the contractors started.

We took everything out of the cabinets and put them into totes.

Sam and Dad took everything out of the fridge so it could be moved out.

This was the first day.

  All the cabinets are gone, and it is the first of interesting adventurous meals for the Whitakers!

The next day they took everything down to the studs, and started the rewiring.

Then the plasterers came.

Then the painters.  :)

We even recruited some help from over Morton way! :)

The east wall.  There will be 2 ovens there. And an island in the middle.

And that's about where we are so far.  Our project began on the 13th of May.  Today they are supposed to measure for countertops.  Which means a kitchen sink!  (In about 6 days!) I cannot wait.  We have been using a lot of paper plates and doing dishes in the tub.  Also without a stove we have been using the grill , crockpot, and hit Subway quite a few times.  We are getting there and looking forward to all the new space!   That's what we've been up to the last couple weeks.
