Labor Day with the Bontragers.

On Labor Day we traveled to Kalona, Iowa to the Bontrager Dairy Farm.

For approximately the last 13 years they have had a homeschooling event called Returning the Hearts of the Fathers.

Four of the kids went with us this year. Livie had lots of little kids to play with. : )

While we were eating our supper one of the Bontrager puppies came to sneak some of Jake's food. : )

Dan played football with some of the boys. When this game started it was fairly small. By the time it was done there were at least 30 kids, big and little all together.

Gracies picture of our family. : )

This year a man named Curtis Bowers and his family came to share about a movie they created called "Agenda". He was very encouraging and challenging to the fathers. As well as the young people in attendance.

It was a great day. We got to visit with a family we hadn't seen in quite a while. There were hay rack rides, great food, the kids played alot. And Doug and I got a chance to visit with other homeschooling moms and dads. One man from Egypt, an eye doctor now in Iowa, who was a coptic Christian. He could trace the faith in family back to Mark spreading the gospel in Egypt. Very interesting.  We all had a great time. The day started early and ended late. Getting us home a little before 1am. Thanks Brooke for helping with the littlest Whitakers. : ) They would not have enjoyed the 7 hour drive (there and back), in the car! We couldn'y have done it without you.  Thanks for visiting.
