| Katie a future Girls Trip participant. : ) |
At the end of May beginning of June my big girls and I went on our annual Girls Trip! We traveled East again to North and South Carolina. While there we visited the Biltmore, Folly beach, Boone Hall Plantation, and our sweet friend Lauren and her husband Johnathan. : )
| Nashville. |
We left about 4:30 on a Sunday morning and drove all the way to North Carolina. Note to self: NEVER do this again! : ) This is one of the hardest places to drive through. This city and Asheville. you just hold on tight and keep up with traffic and hope the GPS gives you plenty of warning about what lane you need to be in. I realized this trip. lol!, that when I get nervous, I sing. : ) Anything and everything. I believe the Abc song even came to mind at one point when I could think of nothing else and all of my girls were asleep! : )
| Em and I also noticed that every once in awhile you realize you are holding your breath! Because we would let out these enormous sighs! |
| Starting into the mountains. |
The mountains are so beautiful. One other thing. Tennessee is the longest state on the planet. It goes on and on! lol! We also encountered alot of construction. A one lane bridge high up in the mountains, over a large amount of water, the cement barricades on the sides of it were so low that while in your car you couldn't see them. We were cautioned by a sign to drive extremely slow. Well...No Kidding! : ) If I could have left my car and walked across I would have. We would have just picked up the car later/or bought a new one when we got to the other side! lol! : ) Did I mention that we all prayed alot during this trip. So it was not only a girls trip but somewhat of a spiritual retreat! Growing much closer to God. : )
| We obviously survived! Em 23, Sarah, 20, Rachel 17. Little Joey is in this picture as well! |
| At last we arrived at the Biltmore. I love coming here, It is so pretty. So many things to see between the house, the gardens, the farm, the mountains. The food. Everything is very interesting. There is a great deal of history preserved perfectly. |
| We had lunch in the stabled which was wonderful! |
| Emily and Joey were standing in this doorway. Little did they know they were standing next to..... |
| THIS! I don't know if you can tell or not, but it is a HUGE spider. Dead thankfully! But still the niggest spider we had ever seen up close and personal. : ) And you know he has family somewhere. : ) |
| Wonderful chicken. Everything is raised on the Biltmore Estate. Free range, organic, farm to fork. |
| Arch ways at the entrances are big enough to fit a carriage through, Once inside this area both doors could be closed and guests could go into the house without ever being in the weather. |
| The door leading into the house just inside those archways. |
| Life imitating art?? lol! As you can see it was never a dull moment! |
| The flowers were beautiful. And Yellow. My favorite color. |
| Once again we stayed in the Grand Bohemian Hotel. It is an even more beautiful version of Jumers. |
| Sarah and Rachel at a tack shop in Asheville that Sarah just had to stop and see. You can take the girl out of the country but you cant take the country out of the girl! : ) |
That;s it for North Carolina. Next stop South Carolina Folly Beach, Boone Plantation and our visit with Lauren. : ) Thanks for visiting.
