Peaches and a trip to Chicago

      Ever feel like your life is traveling at the speed of sound?? Well, on Tues and Wed of this week it slowed to a crawl for a while.  Doug and I took an over night trip to Southern Illinois for some peaches.  There is a state lodge in the same area as the peaches.  It is a beautiful, quiet, place.  This is the third year we have done this.  This year it was just us, although in past years we have had babies with us. :)

You can't really tell from this picture. But just beyond where you can see it drops off into nowhere!

On the way there we drove through a town called Roodhouse.  These tractors were parked in front of a mans house.  He collects and restores them.  We were given the 45 minute tour.  :)

We saw quite a few of these little lizards running around. We tried to catch one but they were too fast for us old people! :)

      So after we picked up our peaches, which by the way. You have to ride a ferry over to what seems like an island. This year the water was low and calm, but in the past it has been flooded in places and has made for an exciting ride.  It is very pretty country, very hilly, very rural, whits rockked roads, dotted with farms, corn and peach orchards.  So we got our peaches, made the drive home, and stepped back into the door.  Where the world resumed to the speed of sound, but we were reated and very happy to have our family back together under the same roof. :)

Then on Friday we made a trip to Chicago for a leg checkup.  Dan went with us which made things lots of fun. Lively, loud, with lots of laughing going on.  This was the only normal pic i have of them.  After they took control; of the camera there were some very interesting pictures taken! :)
We were able to make this trip in a day so we were all back home by that night.  Which was good because we have been swimming in peach processing ever since Wed night!
