So far it's been a very busy morning here at the farm.
The day started for me about 4:45 am with Caleb waking up and needing some attention. He then went back to sleep next to Doug. (Who got in last night very late sometime. I was asleep and didnt hear him come in.)
I layed there with him for awhile planning things for the day and watching him sleep. (Little kids are so peaceful and sweet when they sleep. Nothing compared to the little ball of energy he would be in an hour or so.)
I decided to get up about 6:15am and start breakfast. I wanted Doug and Sam to eat well before they left. Since I know they didnt eat well most of yesterday in the tractors. Sam worked a 140 acre field yesterday and I'm not sure what Doug got done. But he finished where he was and was moving somewhere else.
Breakfast was: pancakes, eggs, ham, fried potatoes, watermellon, juice, and milk. Yum! :)
Doug and Sam left for the field at 7:30 after feeding the cows, filling up fuel tanks, and moving the mule into the shed. (For some reason it didnt want to start last night.) Will have to look into that later.
Breakfast was cleaned up. Kitchen all put back in order. Daniel dumped scrap buckets (also known as slop bucket) outside. Chicken chores done. Sarah did horse chores before she left at 7:00 when she went off to her job.
Rachel fed Caleb who slept in a little bit. I got Gracies and Daniels school ready so they could do their work for the day.
All this by 8:30am.
Now to get myself ready and work on Kindergarten with Jake. Rach is done with 10n grade for this year so she will keep an eye on the 2 littles while Jake gets his school taken care of. I dont know how I would make it without her. :) (Brooke, my wonderful neice has been coming some too in the a.m.'s and that has helped tremendously to help accomplish things around here. Livie loves her!)
So that's our day so far. I'm noticing some sprinkles now. I hope it doesn't rain where the guys are.
Funny for the last couple years we have begged for rain. This year we are hoping it will stop for awhile. :) We are never happy....with the weather anyway. :)
Hope your day is productive. I think I am going to need a nap! :)
