Sarah's 20th birthday/ Going away party Part 1

On June 27th we had a Surprise Going Away/ Birthday Party for Sarah!

Many Friends and Family came to visit.

Many friends from work came too!

We had LOTS of good food.  Thanks everyone for helping out!

Grandpa had supper on the porch with the kids. : )

Katie waiting for Sarah to arrive so she could surprise her.
It was a wonderful time, and we managed to pull it off without Sarah finding out! The next day. (The 28th), we packed and got everything ready to leave the farm for a week.
Sunday morning, the 29th, we were on our way. Map and GPS at hand. We started the 800 mile trip.

The drive was beautiful.

Sarah refusing to be photographed. : )

A very small grocery store on a backroad the GPS took us on in West Virginia. We were certain we would be abducted by some interesting characters in the backwoods and never be heard from again.  We wee very happy when we were reconnected with the interstate.

This was the backyard of the Greens. Where Sarah was going to be staying..

They lived on the very top of a mountain. There was literally a road along the top ridge of the mountain and houses were perched on stilts on either side of the road because there was no flat ground to build them on.  This made for some very interesting drive ways in and out of these houses. You definitely wanted to drive slowly and carefully on these roads. They were curvy and winding. The turns banked up on their sides , something like a race track.  We all stayed the night of the 30th. July 1 we left Sarah there for her first day of work.

There were alot of small farms here and there once we left the Green's mountain.
