Snow!

The first snow of the season
Yesterday morning the weather started out really nice.  Then, by 9:30 the wind came up and it began to rain.  By 3:00 it was snowing, and the wind had become very strong!    The kids were able to get off work at 3:30. Bryce and Emily took Sarah and Michelle home with them. Thankfully! So they didn't have to come all this way to get home.  Bryce traveled to Colfax for work and he thankfully, made it back safely as well.  (note:many prayers taking place yesterday.:)

That  afternoon, some of our littles traveled a couple miles up the road to play cards, games, and visit with Doug's parents.  And that left Doug and I with a couple littles here and 1 big.  (she didn't want to leave her puppies...can you guess who this big might be? :)  So once the kids were in bed we snuggled up on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn and watched an old Waltons episode on the computer.  :)  It was nice to spend some time together!
Planting fence posts.
Doug and Sam had started putting new fence around the north pasture a couple days ago.  They ripped out the old fence, dug holes for new fence posts, (using a fence post digger (for lack of a better word),attached to the PTO of the tractor), and got all the posts layed out, ready to plant.  But of course, as usually happens, one thing or another kept them the next day from getting the posts in the ground.  So Doug being concerned that in the next few days the ground would freeze foir the winter, and have multiple holes open in the yard...went out and got them in yesterday....during the wind....and the snow....:)  Something you should know about Doug is that he has always had the raw determination to complete a job, once he gets started, no matter what. (This could also be known as stubborness. Meant in the most loving way of course!) :)  Needless to say he got it done.
The dirt pile. Remodeled.
When we built this house 16 years ago.  We left one pile of dirt for the kids to play on.  With major use all year round it tends to flatten out and become pretty sad.  So since the pile is right next to where the new fence would go, and the loader tractor just happened to be right there, the pile was quickly set right again!
Livie sliding down the hill.

Dan rolling....

Can you guess what's about to happen?  :)

Amazingly, all survived. :) Especially Dan, as he had Livie to cushion his blow! :)

Pulling the old fence posts out with the loader.
That's about all for now.  I think we will be inside and not leavin the driveway at least for a day or so. Hopefully the wind dies down so the kids can go out and play in the snow. I've got some presents to wrap, and a birthday cake for Doug to bake today.  If family can get out we are having his birthday party tonight!  He turned 46 on Wednesday.  :)  So tonight we will celebrate the day God brought him into the world.  What a wonderful life/ plan He has had for him all these years. And lucky for Me and the kids Gods plan for Doug included us!   Thanks for visiting!  I hope your day is warm and safe as well. :)
