| Our morning started out at 6 am with helpers in the kitchen making coffee cake! :) |
| Then all the girls were off to meet the cousins and Lauren & Abigail at the Jacksonville Civil War reenactment. Sarah happy to finally be on their way! |
| Emily happy to be leaving as well! |
| These combat boots must belong to Sarah! :) |
| And then.....Horror of Horrors!!!! The Flood!!!! Apparently the Chattham/ Jacksonville area got alot of rain overnight! The roads were unpassable in many areas! |
| One of the biggest reenactments of the year was...CANCELLED!!!!! (*gasp*) |
| But as always with a large group of good friends anything can be fun. So, onto plan B! :) |
| Go out to eat! :) |
| And then onto the state capitol. |
| The girls in front of the states capitol. |
| Lauren playing a game with the girls at the Capitol. |
| Rachel being sweet as always! ;) |
| Beautiful Em. :) |
| Lincoln reeenactor. |
| A wedding party on a trolly that toured the Capitol area. |
| Then, The Flood!!! When it was time to get the girls back home. It presented a challenge. Water that wasn't there when they left for the reenactment. Had suddenly appeared while they were gone for the day! My wise oldest daughter said she could hear my voice in the back of her mind saying: "When there's water on the road, turn around, don't drown!" Hee! Hee!! Which goes to show that I am always there! Even when I am not!!! :) I know all, I see all!! :) |
| One of the roads to Abigails house! |
| By this time the girls were thinking Abigail would have to come live with us for a few days! |
| Water behind Laurens house. And her little dog Patterson? |
| Good Friends! :) |
So, as it happens many times the day didn't go quite like expected. But it was still great. Everyone had fun, and most importantly everyone was safe. Back here at the farm the little kids and I baked and Doug even came home for awhile during a short rain. Which is always the highlight of our day. He's been trying to get cultivating done in amongst the rain we've been getting. The newest little baby is still not here yet, and all is going well. Waiting. :) Emily has switched to the production side at Precision for awhile and is learning alot and having fun. She has long hours, but Fridays off. Bryce was kind enough to send a very Sweet email on her first day to tell me how she was doing and said he had checked on her and she was doing fine. (She gets up about 4:30 to get there on time, and then works til 4:30). Thanks Bryce! :) Well that's about it for now. Thanks for visiting! :)
Love the post and pictures! Mamas are ALWAYS with our children . . . although they can't figure out how we do it! lol
