| Stacks of pipes. |
Across the north fence of our field is an oil pumping station. Enbridge is putting in another pipe next to the existing pipe that runs under our field. The new pipeline is hundreds of miles of long and actually runs through 2 of our fields. They have assured us they will be completely done with this project before planting in the spring.
I'm not sure what this giant crane is holding up or what its purpose is. But it is pounding something into the ground. It makes a very loud "clanging" noise all day long.

| our field |
This is our field. You can kind of see the irrigation next to the electrical pole to the left. They are pushing back on each side a wide path of dirt the length of our 80 acres. They have to push back all the top soil before they start digging the trench for the pipe. Which I believe they said is 3 feet in diameter. When they are done they are to put everything back the way it was. Including topsoil back where it belongs. : )

There is quite a lot going on there everyday. And a huge amount of people working everyday. We've driven down to the field quite a few times so the kids could watch all the progress. Next door they are also putting in a new pumping station so there is even more going on, not just the installation of the pipe. Doug has visited with many of the men working over there. They have noticed all our little people over the fence and have offered to take them on a tour of all the construction. FUN!
We are all looking forward to that! Thanks for visiting.
How interesting! what an exciting field trip - one most kids never get to go on! Take them up on the offer for a tour and take lots of pictures to share! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Caryn! It is very exciting to watch. They are seeing so many things close up. We will take lots of pix if they get to go over! Take care. Great to hear from you. Kristi : )
DeleteThis pipeline is also running right next to our property for the new plant on Hanna Drive. It is a BIG one!
ReplyDeleteYou beat me to it! I'm intending to blog about the pipeline activity around our area as well. I like your construction equipment photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Kurt! I am amazed at how far the construction stretches through the area. It would be interesting to know how many people Enbridge has working on this single project. Is the reason you like the pix of the equipment because its all yellow? : ) We miss you guys.Dinner soon? : ) Kristi and Doug
DeleteKristi, this is exciting! I believe they are working on the same pipeline right by our house too. It goes through my parent's property and we have taken many jeep and gator rides to see the progress as well. They are burying the new pipe in the ground here now. Love reading your blog. Little Katie is adorable!
