Digging out!

Today was a day for digging out of the snow! The snow finally stopped, but the wind kept up til after 1:00.  It's hard to tell how much snow we actually got. Some places there is as little as a half an inch. And others there 5 feet! Really!! This is how we spent our wonderful day snowed in. Doug was here Emily was home because Precision closed down production for the day, and Faith Baptist was closed also! So we were all together! Hooray!!  :)

Little Gracie smiling . She's had a fever all day.

This is how it looks in our backyard!!! We have about 3 1/2 foot drifts in some places and in other places only about a half inch of snow.
This is Sarah's 12 year old quarter horse, Smokey.

Rachel and Em with the dogs on top of a pile of snow from the driveway.
Later in the day the snow moved around alot and the drifts are much higher. It may be spring
before we are able to get the big van out.
the south view of our house. Isn't it pretty?
This is our new KING size bed! It has LOTS of room. Which has come in handy with all the sick kids and occasional bad dreams. It is heavenly, but unfortunately so comfortable we don't want to get up !  :)
We got a new king size bed on Saturday!  How many Whitakers can you fit on a king size bed???  :)
Little Olivia really appreciates the Big Bed! She's got the cutest little fat feet!  :)

Partners in Crime Dan, Jake, and Olivia take a break from their oh so busy day!
A picture from the sick ward today. Sam, Daniel, Gracie and the dog.(who isn't sick by the way .)
Now if this doesn't make you smile I don't know what will!  :)
Notice how happy Jess the dog is in this picture?
Not so much now that the blizzard is over, because when the snow left so did my sympathy!  :)
Rachel and Emily working on a new crescent roll recipe they got from the Duggars book. Thanks Misty! :)
Olivia practicing her kiss blowing technique.
They turned out great! We will definitely make these again!
And that was our day.

  1. I laughed SO hard about Jess' indoor/outdoor faces. Our Jack Russell, Patterson, is an indoor guy, but when he gets too obnoxious while watching the squirrels outside...we throw him out. Normally he likes it--but the last few days, not so much. ;D

    Those crescent rolls look delicious!!!
