| The Tourists. :) |
On Sunday and Monday we took our big kids over to Turkey Run and went canoeing. It was a BLAST!!! :)
| Rach and Sarah on the bus going to the drop off sight. |
| Getting ready to go. Me, Sam and Dad road in one canoe. |
| Sam at the front. :) |
A very happy on vacation, farmer in the back of the canoe. :)
Me in the middle. (not pictured.) |
| The girls went in the other canoe. |
Rachel fished for shark with her line, bobber, and cheese. (she did get
a nice little swarm of minnows to follow her for quite a while!) :) |
| Sarah steared the back of the girls canoe, and did a pretty good job. :) |
Me and Doug taking a break on a sand bar. (My children
went to town and picked out my sun glasses! (I cannot be held responsible!) :) |
There was alot of wading and floating downstream with the current. It was
in the low 90's today, and the water was great! |
| Em was working hard in our canoe! :) NOT!!! :) |
| The calm SECONDS before the storm........ |
| THEN, IT HAPPENED!!! CAPSIZE! he! he!! :) That's not the back of a whale their sitting on! That is the bottom of the canoe! :) Thankfully, it happened right at the end, but where they did it the water was waaaay over their heads! |
Drowned (happy) little rats! Shoes were floating, sunglasses were lost, it was every man for himself trying to get on top that canoe!! :)
After this we all got back on the bus and they took us back to our van. Tha whole trip took about 2 hours. |
| After we all got some dry clothes on we went down the road a couple miles and road go carts! |
We all went ! I don't have any other pictures of this, because it's very hard to drive a go cart and take pictures at the same time!! :) We were the only ones there at the time so we had the whole place to ourselves! Doug drove faster than all of us and lapped us twice. (translation:he did 2 more laps than all of us because he drove faster than all the rest of us!)
Usually at this time of year the big girls and I spend some time together and go somewhere. This year since Em will be getting married we decided to have Dad and Sam come too. We all had a great time together. We went to a couple antique places, went canoeing, go carting, drove around and explored the country side, looked at the John Deere dealership, had ice cream, went swimming and just spent time together.
One of Doug's questions for the kids today was how they thought they would feel when they woke up June the 10th. (The day after Em's wedding.) It led to a really good , heartfelt conversation amonst our kids. The kind that makes you realize how much they really love each other, and especially now are going to miss their big sister. The change will be a good one, we all love Bryce very much. He is exactly who we would have picked for Em. But we will all miss having her here very much. And so we are so thankful for Brooke, Michelle, Megan, Abbie, Gracie and my dad and Alice for keeping track of all our littles here. None of it would have been possible without all their very capable help. Thank you.
That's all for tonight! It's been a long, very good day! Thanks for visiting!
