Can you believe this is January! It was such a beautiful day. We played outside most of the afternoon and evening. Everyone, including me, is going to sleep wonderfully tonight! :)
We rode bikes, played on the swings, dug in the dirt, checked out all the animals, and in general ran all over the farm! It smells like Spring! Wonderful! :) I heard more "Mom! Look at this!" and "Mom look at that!" Than I have heard in quite some time. Because you know everything is exciting and new when your little, and not so little! :) It was one of those days when I remember what a blessing it truly is to be a mom of many! :) (You can probably tell by the number of smiley faces and I am only into the first paragraph here!)
Doug has been keeping himself busy with outside farm work. Trying to get as much done as he can, just in case January one day decides to act like January! :)

| This is what it looked like when we started! |
Over the past few days we have been working repairing our corral. It was at least 35 years old and in need of some repair!
| Sarah and Rachel were able to kick the old boards loose. |
The first thing we had to do was to remove all the old boards.
| Sam used a sledge hammer. |
| One of Em's jobs was to cut off nails. |
| Sarah dug a couple new holes for posts that had begun to rot. |
| Doug helping the kids. :) |
| Dan was working hard doing all kinds of things! |
| There's some definite determination there! :) |
| Bryce even came to help. He was a huge help in the demolition when some muscle was required! Thanks Bryce!! :) |
| Proof of the Bryce fan club ! :) |
| Gracie working on taking out some nails. (Note: eating a sucker at the same time makes all the difference! :) ) |
| Sam and Doug starting the new boards. |
| :) |
| Livie working hard. (Another note: sticking out your tongue may not make the nails go in any better, but it sure is cute!) |
| Whitaker kids armed with power tools!!! |
| And now it's done! No critter would dare trying to escape from such a fine work of craftsmanship! (we hope!) :) It was alot of fun working together! :) |
Tonight after the girls got off work they decided to stay the night. So we have Michelle, Brooke and Megan here tonight. That means there are 6 older girls downstairs in my basement laughing hysterically about who knows what right now! :) Mine are blessed to have such great girls as friends. I have been reminded a few times today of some really good girls that they are priveleged to call their friends! :)
Oh yes! One more thing. Three blessings/ gifts from today......
1.) Some really sweet friends stopped in today just to visit. (This is an extra special thing when in my heart I realize that our house is on the way to nowhere. So they came all the way out here just because they wanted to spend time with Rachel and I! :)
2.) A date tonight at Subway with Doug after all the little kids were in bed! Happy day! :)
3.) Having all my older kide come and tell me what a great day they had and all the fun, interesting things that made up their day! Priceless.
That's about it for a Friday. Perfect in every way. Even when they aren't most of the time they still feel that way. Thankfullness and a full heart describe it pretty well. And another blessing...Lord willing, we will get to do it again tomorrow! :)
Thanks for visiting! Until tomorrow.......:)
Love this post, Kristi! It looks/sounds so much like our days around here - I love to see you loving it as much as I love it. We are so blessed, aren't we?!!

When you think about it all . . . we are so blessed, even with the smudged, fingerprinted windows. In the grand scheme of it all . . . just love our kids, enjoy our families and Thank God for it all . . . the good, the bad and the unexpected!
ReplyDeleteLove ya
Very proud of you all for wearing your eye protection!! :) And I agree with Olivia - sticking out ones tongue makes any project go better!
