Saturday and Sunday

Sunday's sunset.

Saturday  my brother came to visit us from Liberal, Kansas.  I think the last time we had got to see him was in September.  So it was great to be able to be with him in the same room and visit!

Saturday was also a busy day for Doug.  Remember that truck he started to unload on Friday night when it was snowing?  Well, shortly after he started to auger the load of wheat out of the truck the gear box went out on the auger.  And there was nothing he could do about it Friday night.  So all of Saturday was spent taking off old parts, getting new parts,(from Minier), and putting on new parts.  He started before 7:00 and finished about 5:00.
It was a long cold day to be outside.  Not to mention having a very patient trucker waiting for him to unload his semi for him the entire day.  Did I mention this semi was from Indiana.  With a load of wheat that couldn't go anywhere but here because it was wheat full of dirt and rocks.
It had been on a train on it's way to StLouis when the 2 train cars it was in tipped over.  A disposal company sucked it up,(for lack of a better word). Put it in dumpsters, where it was then put into semis and delivered to us to be cleaned.  What a mess!

After the auger was repaired and working again the truck was unloaded and the truck could go home.  Doug and I went on a date.  This was previously planned, but as the day went on we didn't think it would happen.  We went with some friends who also have a large family and had a wonderful visit!  Our kids love their kids and we are looking forward to being with them again soon! :)
 A tired little girl. :)
On Sunday we had another lesson on spiritual warfare at church. We wondered if we hadn't endured some of that on Saturday.  As you can imagine Saturday there were quite a few prayers spoken both inside and outside the house.   And we were both wondering if there was something we were supposed to learn. Or if Doug was there to meet the trucker and spend the whole day with him?  We don't know for sure. We do know that we prayed that God would hold everything together Friday night and keep him safe while he was working.  Did He keep Doug safe? Yes.  Did everything "hold together"? No.  So for what ever reason God allows certain things to happen for certain reasons.  I am very grateful that the 1 st half of the prayer was a yes! :)  And the 2nd half was simply to be accepted and worked with. :)

Bryce came to visit Em today and went to Sunday school and church with us.  After which we visited the Morton Pizza hut. :)  Yummy.  While we were there we realized Dan had pink eye! Ugh! :(  We called the doctor and he ordered some eye drops.  Now everyone has itchy eyes and thinks they have it.  Time will tell if this feeling truly comes to fruition!  ;)

6 blessings from the weekend would be : 68) Safe working for Doug while in the dark, in the snow, with an auger.
69) Bryce's parents.  Who let Em stay with them Friday night so she didn't have to drive home in the bad weather.
70) A very patient trucker who was nice to spend a long work day with.
71)Prayers that are definitely answered.  Sometimes not the way we wanted, but the way God would want them to be.  Which is always better anyway.
72.) Another large Godly family He has brought into our life to have fun and fellowship with! :)
73.) Rest from a busy week.  So that we can be ready for another one! :)

Thanks for visiting! Good Night!
