| Looking at this just makes me smile. It is soooo Olivia! |
Could it really be that "winter" will begin tomorrow?? How could it be ??? It was so warm out today. We played outside. And as you see Livie "escaped" outside with only a diaper and was quite comfortable!~ :) It just doesn't seem possible that we could get a snowstorm. and 0 wind chills. We shall see by tomorrow morning.

Today Doug was outside with the kids saving the apple trees from the rabbits who are chewing on them. When he realized these 2 had disappeared. After looking all over the farm. He heard them up in the hay loft. Where they are not supposed to be! Quickly formulating a plan he quietly assended the ladder to the loft. And hid behind a pile of straw. He then began to make growling noises and make the straw shake about! This, of course, got the kids attention really quick! :) First Livie called for Jake to do something. Then they both called for their Dad to come save them! And then they cried! So Dad being the soft hearted Dad that he is. Jumped out like he had just sprung up from the ladder and jumped on the pile of straw and began stomping on it. To take care of whatever was making that horrible noise! Thus, proving once again that Dad is their hero and will always save the day!! AND that they should have obeyed the 1st time and never been up there in the 1st place! :) Needless to say it will be aLONG time before they go up there again I am certain of this!

Today was a great day. I went to my first official sewing lesson with Miss Lily R. and had a wonderful time. She does a wonderful job at explaining and has a great deal of patience. Which I think will come in handy as we go on! :) It was alot of fun, and I can't wait til the next lesson. If you have ever met Lily , (and many of you have), she sews beautiful clothes, (as do her mom and sister), and it is a privelege to have her share her talent with me. :)
Later on, back at the farm Rachel and I took care of some things outside in case there is snow and wind tonight. The kids got home and made sure all the critters in the barn had what they needed as well. (No one likes extensive chores when it's cold and blowing!).
Tomorrow is Sam's 11th birthday. He is hoping there is no school tomorrow! :) I hope he is right! It's hard to gauge how the roads will be up the road and whether or not to send them. Come to think of it, the day Sam was born there was an ice storm the night before.
Three Blessings/ gifts from today were:19.) Learning to do something I have wanted to do for
many years now. :)
20) A warm house to be in when storms do come.
21.) Having the promise that God will never leave us nor
forsake us. no matter what comes our way. :)
One last thing! :) A faithful reader from waaayyyy out West wanted an update on what we thought of the homemade soap we made way back in February! :) ha!ha!! It was fine, but we never made it again. Alot of fun to make, but took alot of time unfortunately. Maybe if we get a blizzard we'll attempt it again. We'll have to see! Thanks for asking!! :)
That's about it for today, I hope your last day of January Spring was a blessing! Thanks for visiting! Good Night! :)
Happy Birthday Sam!!
ReplyDeleteKristi your Jake & Olivia story had me chuckling - they sound like such a fun pair. And I love the picture of them! That's a lot of ornery-ness!
